Don't miss out on this opportunity to be part of The Big Read!

Broward County Library’s Florida Center for the Book with partners Florida Center for the Literary Arts at Miami Dade College have joined forces in The Big Read inviting everyone to read Ray Bradbury’s "Fahrenheit 451."

The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), in partnership with Arts Midwest, is sponsoring this national initiative to encourage literary reading by asking communities to come together to read and discuss one book.

Broward County Library is one of ten organizations selected nationwide, from a pool of 45 applicants, to promote and carry out community-based programs to encourage reading by teens and adults. The NEA is a public agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, established by Congress in 1965.

The kick-off for The Big Read event is April 27 when the Florida Center for the Book Presents: "Big Read – Fahrenheit 451– Get Fired Up: Book Burning Art Installation and Exhibit of Fahrenheit 451 Book Covers." The reception is at 6 pm. The dramatic reading of Fahrenheit 451 is at 7:30 pm. Call 954-357-7401 for more information.
