"Fahrenheit 451" is both an intense journey toward one man's freedom and a foreboding vision of cultural collapse in a future without books. The novels focuses on Guy Montag, a fireman who is actually a professional bookburner. He is expected to start fires instead of putting them out. The title of Bradbury's novel comes from the temperature at which paper burns, 451 degrees Fahrenheit.
